Welcome to the Espresso Idiot's FAQ page. Here we list some of the main questions that we are asked about this site, in the hope that we can answer any questions that you might have. Please contact us if you have a question that you want answered that doesn't appear below.

Is this site really free? How can you do it? EspressoIdiot.com is completely free to the user. As lovers of espresso it really isn't a chore to track our consumption of espresso and have the Espresso Idiot review the beans and blends that we go through in a month. You might notice that we have advertising on this site, the purpose of this is to try and recoup some of our overheads. For the main, this is a labour of love and we don't expect to make a profit out of it. So enjoy the site, it is completley free of charge to you and we intend to keep it that way. Also, we don't charge a fee to reveiw establishments as that would affect our impartiality, something that we fiercely protect. We may get paid via the advertising, but we do not have any connection with the products advertised on this site and as such there is no conflict of interest.
Do you review places, beans, and blends more than once? The answer to this is that we will review espresso houses, beans, and blends more than once if we are able to. We accept that in the world of espresso the barista, humidity, and age of the espresso are among the many variables that can affect espresso. Even the best houses can occaisionally produce a below average performance. As such, to be fair, we need to consider reviewing beans and blends more than once. We will do so.
How do I get my place reviewed by your site? If you are an espresso house that wants to be reviewed by the Espresso Idiot, you can contact us on the e-mail address listed below and you will be placed on our intended to review list. However, in order protect our integrity and ensure that the reviews posted on this site record what takes place when a member of the public is served at your place, you will not be informed of either when, or whom, will undertake the review. Merely advising this site of the fact that you wish to be reviewed will not guarantee that we will review your product, we are interested in the gourmet end of the market and if you are serving up mass produced and marketed espresso it is possible that we wont be able to fit in reviewing your venue. Sorry, but there is only so much we can do!
